Course description

Learn Spanish intensively in Costa Rica in a unique and immersive way. The Intensive Program of Diversity School offers a combination of group and private lessons. While in group lessons you can learn the language in a general way, the private lessons are an excellent option to additionally practice the language because it allows the enforcement of different interest areas of the student, giving you the opportunity to learn more about vocabulary that you can use in your professional life.
You can take the private lessons in the morning or in the evening, depending of the schedules of the group lessons. This lessons have a flexible schedule for your convenience.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to SJO International Airport. Your San José host family will meet you there and transfer you to their home nearby. There you can recover from the long journey. Room and Meals Included.

Day 2: Your host family will take you to the bus station to take the bus to San Isidro, located in the South Pacific of Costa Rica. Upon arrival, your new host family in San Isidro will pick you up at the bus station and take you to their home. Room and Meals Included.

Day 3 to 6: These days you will be able to participate in different interactive activities while learning Spanish at Diversity School. You may want to use your knowledge to practice with local people.

San Isidro del General is located on a wide valley in the peaceful mountains of Costa Rica’s Southern Zone. This small city is bursting with local culture, moderate temperatures, beautiful landscapes, and convenience to shops and services just an hour from the beach and near from Costa Rica’s tallest mountain, Cerro Chirripó.

**On day 4 Morning pick up for a Horseback Riding tour to Nauyaca Waterfalls. This is the ideal place for nature and adventure lovers featuring a forty-five meters high free fall waterfall forming at the bottom a 1,000 square meter and six meter deep pool. Upon arrival at the entrance, you will get safety instructions and explanation on the tour. This is a 12 kilometer route through lush forest, you will pass by Don Lulo’s house to have a delicious typical breakfast and continue the ride until arriving to the stunning waterfalls where you may dip in the warm water of natural pools. Enjoy the charming scenery and a delicious Costa Rican lunch. After a well-earned rest and a delicious cup of coffee, we begin the return trip to our starting point and back to San Isidro to receive today’s class. Room and meals included.

Day 7: Today after finishing your class, your host family will take you to the bus station in the afternoon to take the bus back to San José. Upon arrival, your host family will pick you up and take you to their home for your last night in the country. Room and meals Included.

Day 8: Transfer will be provided to SJO International Airport. You need to be there 3 hours before your flight time.

What to Bring

Casual clothing like: sweater, loose shirts, pants, jeans, shorts, hat or cap and bathing suit. We also recommend: Sunscreen, sunglasses, hiking shoes, small backpack to carry on tours and activities, water bottle, flashlight, bug spray, raincoat, camera and binoculars.

  • Since the Spanish classes are from Monday to Friday, it is highly recommended to schedule the arrival to the country on a Saturday to start the itinerary.
  • Reservations for people over 18 years-old.
  • During Costa Rican National Holidays, classes are not imparted.
  • Local flights and transfers allow a maximum luggage weight of 25 pounds (12kg).
