Reforestation program

Volunteers will be working on a variety of projects e.g. provide assistance on the reforestation planning, helping the local workers tend the saplings in the greenhouse, hike into the mountains and plant the trees and assist in the monitoring of the reforestation progress.

Volunteers will be working on a variety of projects e.g. provide assistance on the reforestation planning, helping the local workers tend the saplings in the greenhouse, hike into the mountains and plant the trees and assist in the monitoring of the reforestation progress.

There will be other researchers, who you may be assisting or may be working with on the ongoing Biological Survey, working with camera traps and personal observation of wildlife or on a short term project like developing a medicinal garden or fern garden. As research assistants volunteers will gain hands on field experience as well as new research methods and protocols.

Location
Puerto Viejo, San Gerardo (near Chirripo).
Working hours
8:00am – 3:00pm.
Skills
Interest and physical ability to work in a remote area, in a small team and under simple living and tropical weather conditions (hiking, physical work), biological interest.
Staff
Forestal engineer and interdisciplinary team but not full time (educators, communication) depending on project.
